Healthier Lifestyles

This toolkit has been developed as part of the Mind Your Heart programme, a project set up to improve the physical health of people living with mental health problems in Ceredigion.

Everyone is entitled to information that could help them improve their health and those organisations who work in the mental health sector are in a good position to provide this information and support for their clients.

The Toolkit provides information and guidance on ways to increase opportunities for healthier activities and to support people who wish to change.


Healthier Lifestyles

People with poor mental health tend to experience worse physical health than the rest of the population. Yet there is evidence that a healthier lifestyle will improve not just physical health but also mental health, mood and wellbeing. For example, regular physical activity reduces the risk of depression and has positive benefits for mental health including reduced anxiety, enhanced mood and self-esteem.
